2/24/2009 Club hosts Karnevalsparty
For the second time, the German Club SAIS organized DC's only carnival party. Over 300 people dressed up and celebrated the "Fifth Season" in Local 16. We look forward to continuing this tradition next year!


12/5/2008 Club hosts Christmas Happy Hour
The German Club and the Austrian community hosted a Happy Hour at SAIS inspired by the "Christkindlmarkt" tradition. 200 SAISers enjoyed a wide selection of German beers and homemade "Glühwein".

4/11/2008 Club meets with European Club of Georgetown University at the German Embassy
Two club members meet with the European Club of Georgetown University. Both clubs followed an invitation by Dr. Georg Schulze-Zumkley of the German Embassy. It was agreed upon a closer collaboration in the future in order for both clubs to leverage from the other ones contacts and networks.


4/9/2008 Club Members attend meeting at the private residence of Germanys Chief of Mission
Three club members were invited to attend a meeting and dinner at the private residence of Johannes Haindel, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. It was hosted in honor of Robert Behr. Mr. Behr surrvived the Holocaust in Germany and talked openly about his experiences. After the event, time permitted to informally talk to Germany's second highest diplomat in Washington D.C. and take a picture

2/5/2008 German Club hosts German Carnival Party
The German Club chose a spectacular event to celebrate its inauguration: The Club Members organized a German Carnival Party in a bar in Adams Morgan. The turnout was more than satisfying: Over 350 people celebrated the "Fifth Season" with German beer and carnival music. As a thank you for the great support we recieved from our SAIS classmates, The German Club decided to donate $ 1000 towards the 2008 SAIS class gift.
We thank everybody who attended the event for their support. This event will go down in history - and might only be topped by nexts years continuation of the newly founded tradition.
